Mid-Ohio Food Collective is grateful to receive over $4.3 million in financing made possible through the federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program to support construction of the Eastland Prosperity Center. This investment represents another significant step toward bringing our vision for this transformational community resource to life.
When the Eastland Prosperity Center opens later this year, it will offer nutritious food, health care, workforce development, and other essential services together under one roof to create a one-stop destination so families can access the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. We are grateful to Huntington Bank, who financed the NMTC transaction, and three Community Development Entities for investing in this vision: McCormack Baron Salazar, Urban Action Community Development, and The Community Builders.
The NMTC program, administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, encourages investment in communities that have historically experienced economic disinvestment. This is the first time MOFC has received NMTC financing, demonstrating the organization’s continued resourcefulness and commitment to public-private partnerships that create lasting community impact.
