Thousands of generous supporters across central and eastern Ohio joined Mid-Ohio Food Collective for our 13th annual Double Your Donation Day (DYDD) fundraiser on December 10. Held each December in partnership with NBC4, DYDD is MOFC’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Every dollar donated went twice as far in feeding our hungry neighbors with the help of generous match sponsors.
As of late December, this year’s DYDD raised over $3.27 million to fight hunger across our 20-county footprint. It was all made possible by our incredible donors, as well as the dozens of volunteers who ran our day-long phone bank.
Throughout the day, NBC4 aired stories of real people who fight hunger or have experienced it themselves. These include Ed and Ben, a father-son duo who volunteer together every week; “The Golden Girls,” a group of senior women who are customers-turned-volunteers; and the co-founder of the Bexley Turkey Trot, Ann, who continues donating to MOFC each year in memory of her husband. This year’s DYDD may be over, but MOFC needs your help and support every day! Whether you can give $1 or $1,000, your donation helps us get fresh, nutritious food to hungry families in central and eastern Ohio all year round.
