Columbus, Ohio — Columbus City Hall and the Franklin County Government Center on South High Street will join Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) in lighting up orange this week to raise awareness of Hunger Action Month. Taking place throughout September, Hunger Action Month is a time where MOFC shares stories, celebrates partnerships, works to raise awareness of food insecurity, and show how our communities can work together to end hunger. This year’s theme is “Hunger Lives Here … and so Does Help!

Columbus City Hall (90 W. Broad St.), will be bathed in orange light Thursday evening, Sept.14, through the morning of Saturday, Sept. 16. The Franklin County Government Center (369 S. High St.), will be lit up orange this Friday Sept.15, until Friday, Sept. 22. MOFC’s Grove City headquarters (3960 Brookham Dr.) will also go orange from Hunger Action Day, which is Sept. 15, to the end of the month.

Hunger Action Month is recognized every September by foodbanks across the country in the Feeding America network. Orange is the color of hunger relief, and Mid-Ohio Food Collective is the largest foodbank in Ohio.

While hunger lives in every community and affects everyone, help is also in every neighborhood through MOFC’s network of agency partners working to ensure access to fresh, nutritious food where and when people need it.

More information about Hunger Action Month can be found at www.mofc.org/action.
