Columbus Blue Jackets, Wild Turkey Help MOFC Check Hunger Ahead of Thanksgiving

Just before Thanksgiving, MOFC teamed up with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Wild Turkey to make a brighter holiday for hundreds of hungry families (303, to be exact).

Inspired by its 101-proof bourbon, CBJ beverage partner Wild Turkey donated 303 turkeys to MOFC—101 for each of the three TV timeouts the brand sponsored at fall Blue Jackets home games in November.

The birds were delivered to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank on November 13 with help from former Blue Jackets forward and current team commentator Jody Shelley (pictured below, center, with members of MOFC’s warehouse team). From there, the turkeys were distributed to MOFC partner agencies across central and eastern Ohio.

“This initiative is a great example of how partnerships can come together to make a real difference,” Shelley said. “We’re proud to work alongside Wild Turkey to support Mid-Ohio Food Collective and help brighten the holidays for local families.”

CBJ home game attendees in December were treated to in-game promos spotlighting the donation and how everyday fans can fight hunger by helping MOFC.
