Mid-Ohio Food Collective’s workplace giving campaign, Operation Feed, is back with a goal of raising over six million meals. From March 1 to June 30, hundreds of companies and organizations raise funds to fight hunger in central and eastern Ohio.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) is a loyal Operation Feed participant because kids need access to nutritious foods for growth, development, and well-being. NCH treats patients in MOFC’s 20-county footprint and beyond, and we share a goal of making our communities healthier.

“By addressing food insecurity, Nationwide Children’s Hospital helps reduce inequities that directly impact the health and well-being of Ohio children and families,” said NCH Senior Infrastructure Financial Analyst Denise Schmitz. “Operation Feed empowers our associates to make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve every day.”

NCH Operation Feed Committee members like Denise organize the hospital-wide silent auction and other fundraisers. They also educate employees about the impact of food insecurity and how the campaign provides nutritious food to families—many of whom are also their patients.

Each dollar raised provides 2.5 meals for our hungry neighbors. NCH raised over 310,000 meals last year. That’s enough to provide over 22,000 kids with breakfast and lunch for an entire week, giving them the nutrition they need to thrive.

Your workplace can make a difference too! Join the fight against hunger with Operation Feed partners like Nationwide Children’s Hospital until the end of June.
